Two armed robberies in Syracuse University area may be related
Fri, 30 Aug 2013 19:16:52 GMT — Two armed robberies in the Syracuse University area on Thursday night may be related, police say.Syracuse Police say the first robbery happened around 8:55 p.m. in the 1000 block of Comstock Avenue.An SU student told police he was approached by three unknown black men. Police say two of the suspects displayed a handgun and knife. They stole money and a cell phone from the victim. The student was not injured.The second incident, an attempted robbery, happened around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Stratford Street at Sumner Street.Three SU students told police they were approached by three unknown black men.Police say the suspects asked the students for change and when the students said they had no money, two of the suspects displayed a handgun and knife. No property was stolen and the students were not injured.Police say it appears the incidents may be related.
