Two arrested in drug bust on Waite Avenue in Watertown
Two people are arrested after members of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force and State Police after a drug bust in Watertown turned up illegal drugs and cash.
Officials executed the search warrant at 522 Waite Avenue in an upstairs apartment. When officers entered the apartment they found the two suspects, along with 64 bags of heroin, 23 knotted wraps and 4.4 grams of crack cocaine. They also seized $1,921 in cash. Officers say the drugs have a street value of $4,340.
34-year-old Jermele S. Halstion, of Syracuse, and 26-year-old Paige H.A. Johnson, of Watertown, were both arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both are being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bail based on previous felony convictions.
