A two-car crash at 6:05 on Monday evening shut down two lanes of I-81 North and the Almond Street on-ramp for forty-five minutes.
Syracuse police said they arrived on the scene and found two disabled Toyota Camrys in the center lane. Further investigation revealed that an unidentified third car swerved into traffic from the Almond Street on-ramp, forcing the two Camryâ??s to take evasive action, causing the crash.
One of the Camry drivers, a 22 year-old man from Middletown, was not injured in the crash. The other driver, 26 year-old Cameron Grovner from Syracuse, was taken to Upstate Hospital as a precautionary measure after he complained of head pain.
Police said Grovner was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident. He was issued traffic tickets for unlicensed operation and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Neither driver could identify the vehicle that caused the crash.
