Two people from Oswego are charged with stealing a woman's purse, and one of them is also accused of forging checks.
Oswego police say 20-year-old Drew Pelkey and 25-year-old Karen Aubertine, both of 217 East Eighth Street, stole a woman's purse from a grocery store check out line while the woman wasn't looking.
It happened January 11 at the Price Chopper at 137 State Route 104 in Oswego.
Police were able to identify the suspects thanks to video surveillance footage from the store.
Pelkey and Aubertine are charged with grand larceny, a felony. They were sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond. Both are due back in court on January 24.
Pelkey is also charged in four separate incidents where he's accused of forging stolen personal checks.
