Two employees steal over $1,300 in merchandise from Sears

Two Sears employees were arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,300 in merchandise over a span of approximately 9 months.

New Hartford Police say 19-year-old Forystt S. Marshall, of Clark Mills, and 20-year-old Kevin A. Gomez, of Utica, allegedly worked together to steal items while employed at Sears in New Hartford.

Police say Sears Loss Prevention reported that the thefts began in November of 2012 and continued through early August of 2013. Some of the stolen property was able to be recovered by police.

Police identified Marshall and Gomez as the suspects. They are both with felony grand larceny.

Marshall and Gomez were released on Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of New Hartford Court on a later date.

The investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are possible.
