Two injured after Ryder truck crashes into car, ditch and Gold's Gym in Clay

Two people were injured and a building damaged after a crash on Morgan Road in the Town of Clay Friday.

Onondaga County Sheriffâ??s Deputies say a Utica woman was waiting in the left lane of northbound Morgan Road to turn into the Child Time Day Care with her three-year-old twins in the back in car seats when a Ryder truck, driven by 39-year-old David Revette, crossed the double solid yellow line and hit her car on the rear passenger side. The truck then crossed the south lanes of the road, crashed through a ditch and continued for about 50 yards until is hit the corner of the Goldâ??s Gym building.

Deputies say the truck partially broke through the wall and caused the floor and walls of the exercise room to buckle.

Revette and the driver of the car were taken to the hospital for minor back injuries. The twins were uninjured, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The Goldâ??s Gym did not suffer any major structural damage, according to Town of Clay code enforcement.

Revette was given tickets for failure to keep right and imprudent speed.
