Two kids arguing over basketball leads to two adults being stabbed in Mohawk Valley

Police say an argument between two children playing basketball in a Mohawk Valley city leads to two adults being stabbed and hospitalized.

Authorities tell local media outlets that the argument broke out between two kids during a basketball game played late Sunday afternoon in Amsterdam, 30 miles northwest of Albany.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man and a woman both had been stabbed in the chest and abdomen. Officials say they were taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.

Police say the attackers were at least two women who fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers later stopped a car and questioned four women inside. No arrests have been reported.
