Two men accused of growing marijuana plants in Oswego County

Two Oswego County men were arrested on Tuesday for separate marijuana growing operations.

The Oswego County Sheriffâ??s Department says they arrested 58-year-old Loren P. Richardson, of Pulaski, and 24-year-old Joshua A. Castiglia, of Fulton, following two separate investigations and eradication details conducted in July and August.

Deputies say members of the US Border Patrol flew a helicopter over Richardsonâ??s residence and saw a marijuana growing operation. Six marijuana plants were subsequently confiscated.

Castiglia was arrested after eradication detail found and seized 48 marijuana plants from his property, according the Oswego County Sheriffâ??s Department.

Both investigations are part of an ongoing operation throughout the county.

Richardson and Castiglia were charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful growing of cannabis. They were both arraigned at the Town of Volney Court and released on their own recognizance. Richardson is scheduled back in court on October 1. Castiglia is scheduled back in court on September 24.
