      Two Oswego County men arrested for possessing child porn

      Two Oswego County men are under arrest after police say they were found to be in possession of child pornography.

      According to State Police, over the course of the past week Troopers with the Computer Crimes Unit executed search warrants at homes in Granby and Volney. Upon searching the homes two men were arrested for possessing and promoting child pornography.

      35-year-old Jeremiah J. Wiltse of State Route 3 in Fulton was arrested on October 12 and charged with felony possession of a sexual performance of a child and felony promoting a sexual performance of a child, as well as misdemeanor failure to provide sustenance to a dog that lived in his home. He was arraigned in Volney Town Court and remanded to the Oswego County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

      Nearly a week later, on October 18, 47-year-old Richard J. Watkins of County Line Road in Phoenix was also arrested and charged with five counts of felony possession of a sexual performance of a child and two counts of felony promoting a sexual performance of a child. He was also arraigned in Volney Town Court and sent to the Oswego County jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

      Troopers say additional charges may be forthcoming, pending analysis of items taken from the suspects?? homes. Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call State Police in Fulton at 315-598-2112.
