Damage to the green at Cranebrook Golf Course.

Two Cayuga County teens are under arrest, accused of causing $11,000 in damages to a Throop golf course a week and a half ago.

It was last Tuesday, June 17, when CNY Central first reported extensive damage to the fairways and greens at the Cranebrook Golf Course on Canoga Road in Throop over the previous weekend.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office has since arrested two 16-year-old boys from Montezuma for criminal mischief.

Sometime between 9 p.m. June 14, and 6:30 a.m. June 15, investigators say they took three golf carts, and drove them around the course. From the above images, at least one golf cart ended up in the water.

The teens were arraigned in the Town of Throop Court and released to their parents. Their names are not being released.

Anyone who has any information that could help investigators is encouraged to call the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office at (315) 253-1132, and ask for Detective Franklin.
