Two teens charged with robbing woman in Armory Square

Two teenagers are charged with attacking a woman and robbing her of her purse in Syracuse's Armory Square area Friday night

Two teens were in Syracuse City Court on Saturday morning, to be charged with attacking a woman and taking her purse on Friday night.

Syracuse Police say there were called just before 8:30pm, and the 25-year old victim told them she was walking on the 200 block of Walton Street when she was approached by four young men. She says she struggled with them as they tried to steal her purse, was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head.

Police found four suspects and the purse nearby, and arrested two teens: 16 year old Shondell Vaughn of 157 Lincoln Avenue, a 9th grader at Fowler High School, and 17 year old James Walker, of New Hope South in Liverpool, in 11th grade at CNS.

We were in court as they both pleaded not guilty to felony robbery charges, but were told not to get their pictures because of ID issues.
