Sun, 15 Dec 2013 03:11:12 GMT — A Jefferson County woman has now been upgraded to good condition, after a crash that killed the two year riding in her cr, which crashed in Jefferson County on Friday evening. State Police say it happened about 7:20pm on County Route 45 in Champion. Troopers say 42-year-old Wilhelmina Johnson, of Copenhagen, was driving northeast on CR-45 with the two-year-old child in a rear passenger car seat, and her car went off the road, over-corrected, and drifted into a pickup truck in the oncoming lane.The pickup's driver took evasive action, according to investigators, but could not avoid the crash. Johnson and the two year old were airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead before 9 p.m. on Friday. Johnson was listed in good condition on Sunday morning, after being treated for massive head trauma. The pickkup's driver was not seriously injured, and was treated and released at the scene.
