You would never know it to look at them, but Amelia and Allison Tucker underwent about 40 surgeries in November 2012 in an attempt to help them live separate lives. The Tucker twins, from Adams, were born joined at the chest. At 8 months old, the conjoined twins went under the knife for a risky surgery that took more than seven hours and a team of 40 doctors to complete.
Now, the girls are two years old, and enjoying their lives to the fullest.
This is the most recent post on the family??s Caringbridge page:
?? Amelia and Allison keep doing things that amaze me. The girls are now "normal" two year olds. We just recently went for our checkup at Philadelphia. They have cleared them for a year. They are smaller than average but they are doing well. Evaluation proved they are at their corrected age! I posted a recent picture of them and their brother. Owen is doing well also and will be starting preschool in the fall.We are all doing well. We are starting new journeys and coming along. Thank you for all the support these past two years!??
