UPDATE: Road closings in CNY

Update: Saturday 8am

River Road, in Marcy is closed because of high water.

In Madison County, there's a no unnecessary travel advisory because of water on several roads---until 8am Sunday.

In Onondaga County, Route 290 from Clemons to Manlius Center Road is shut down.Also, in DeWitt, Butternut Drive from Manlius Center Rd. to Kinne RoadIn Manlius, Myers Road from Schepps Corners Rd. to North Manlius Road.

There are many other reports of short stretches of CNY roads closed by high water---the advice: do not drive through!

Update, 6:00pm:

Manlius Police have just announced the closure of Myers Road between Schepps Corners Road and North Manlius Road due to flooding. Stay with for more road closures.

Update, 4:15pm:

The DeWitt Highway Department has closed Butternut Drive because of flooding. The closure runs from Manlius Center Road to Kinne Road. It will stay closed until the flooding subsides.

All motorists should avoid the area until the road closure signs have been removed.

Today's flooding is causing problems for drivers. Here are the very latest road closings we have here at the CNYcentral newsroom

I-81 Northbound at Exit 13 in Preble due to flooding. The State Department of Transportation says that section of the highway will remain closed until further notice.If you have to travel that way right now, the DOT suggests you use US 11 North to the I-81 Northbound on-ramp at Tully.

North Main Street (State Highway 12) in the Village of Sheburne is closed due to flooding. Tractor trailers are being permitted through at this time although delays can be expected.

Manlius Center Road and North Manlius Road/Green Lakes Road in the Town of Manlius near the Old Erie Canal.
