New Hartford Police say the man arrested for a hit and run at the Home Depot last Friday, had four previous DWI arrests in Oneida County.
Jason Hammond, 29, from Utica, was arrested after a car hit a signpost and left the Home Depot, about 6:20pm on July 4th . Witnessed helped police find the car, with Hammond inside, at Chanatry's Market, nearby.
Hammond has been charged with leaving the scene, and DWI. Police say he'd just gotten out of state prison a few weeks earlier, where he was doing time for DWI, and that he's been arrested 5 times in 5 years in Oneida County, on DWI charges.
Right now, he's being held in the Oneida County Jail, with no bail.
