Utica man charged with murder after victim found stabbed in street

On Friday evening at 7:45 p.m., Utica Police responded to 1624 Howard Avenue for a stabbing.

Police found a man bleeding on the ground from a chest wound. The victim, 60-year-old Paul Grimes, of Utica, died of his injuries.

Witnesses told police the suspect was inside the residence. After knocking, the suspect entered and was taken into custody.

71-year-old Lawrence Abbott, of Utica, is charged with second-degree murder and criminal weapon possession.
