Utica man stabs his brother in the chest with scissors, police say

An argument between brothers turned violent when one of them took a pair of scissors to the chest, according to Utica Police.

Officers were called to St. Lukeâ??s at about 7:45 am Friday for a reported stabbing.

The victim told police he was at his home on Ballantyne Brae in Utica when he got into an argument with his brother. The argument turned physical and the victim told police he felt a sharp pain in his chest and when he looked down he found a small stab wound to his chest. He also had a punctured lung.

Officers went to the home and found a pair of scissors that they believe was used by the suspect.

43-year-old Stephen Gomolka was arrested and charged with second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
