Utica teen arrested after Wal*Mart is closed by gun threat

Tyler Benoit, 17, is charged with falsely reporting an incident after a threat at Utica's Wal*Mart on Saturday night

Utica Police shut down a Wal*Mart Saturday night, after worries that there might be a man with a gun in the store. The building was evacuated after a threatening phone call, answered by a store employee about 8:10 Saturday night.

Police determined the building was safe, and then tracked the call to Spratt Place in Utica, where they arrested 17 year old Tyler Benoit. The teen's been charged with falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor.
