A Utica woman is accused of smashing an ash tray against a wall, using the broken glass to cut her boyfriend's face, after an argument turned physical.
41-year-old Deanna Payne is now charged with assault.
Police were called to their Court Street address around 9:30 Monday night.
They found the man with a facial cut, that he told them was caused by his girlfriend.
According to the man, Payne threw a glass ashtray against the wall, using the broken glass to cut his face. Police arrested her and charged her with assault in the second degree - a felony.
