Victim in 'extremely critical condition' after shooting in Syracuse

A man was rushed into emergency surgery Saturday following a shooting that happened at about 3:45 am on Saturday on the 100 block of East Beard Street. Investigators say the victim had at least one gunshot wound. Police say they were called by several neighbors, who said they heard shots being fired.

The victim was taken to Upstate Hospital in extremely critical condition, according to police. He has been rushed into emergency surgery, and no information in his current condition was available.

Police have no suspect information at this time, but they say the crime scene unit in investigating the scene and collecting evidence.
