State Police in Cortland County say a standoff between a man and Troopers has ended with one man in police custody.
Trooper Nathan Riegal, spokesman for Troop C, tells CNY Central that around 11:00 a.m. they received a call regarding a man who would not leave a building on Clute Road in the Town of Virgil. Neighbors tells us several State Police vehicles surrounded a barn or garage with weapons drawn, and remained on site for a couple of hours.
Police say just after 1:00 p.m. the situation was resolved and the man was taken into custody. No injuries have been reported.
Police would not release the name of the individual, nor would they give an exact address where the incident happened.
Clute Road near Blodgett Mills was closed while the standoff took place.
