      Volney traffic stop leads to 3 drug arrests

      A traffic stop in the Town of Volney leads to the arrest of three people from Syracuse. It happened around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 481.

      Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say Carolyn LaBrake, 25, of 3119 Grant Boulevard, was driving a car with a loud muffler. Deputies pulled her over and charged her with possession of a hypodermic instrument along with an exhaust violation and improper license. LaBrake was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. She is due back in court March 21st.

      During the same traffic stop, Sephra Ross, 31, of 215 Cayuga Street, who was a passenger in the car, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle. Deputies say she had heroine in an envelope along with Suboxone, Xanax and Flexeril. Ross was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail. She is due back in court March 21st.

      Another passenger in the car, Ryan McDowell, 31, of 309 Curtis Street Apt. 13, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle. Deputies say the was found with 8 hypodermic needles and Lorazepam tablets. McDowell was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. He is due back in court on March 21st.
