Weekend inmate arrested for bringing marijuana pipe into Cortland County Jail

A Cortland man is under arrest after Sheriff Deputies say he brought drug contraband into the Cortland County Jail.

According to authorities, 41-year-old Terry Maricle brought a marijuana pipe into the jail when he was reporting for his weekend stays at the jail.

Maricle was sentenced previously to weekends at the Cortland County Jail for a drug related conviction. Maricle was to show up at the jail by 7:00 a.m.on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Deputies say he reported to the jail a half an hour late and had the marijuana pipe in his possession.

He was arrested on February 8, 2014 and charged with a Class A misdemeanor of promoting prison contraband in the second degree. Maricle was arraigned and released. He is due back in court Friday, February 14th.
