The Westcott Bulb Project, which has been beautifying Syracuse's east side for years, is now offering bulbs and expertise to other Syracuse neighborhoods and community groups.
Pete Wirth says they're taking orders now, with a mid-July cutoff for the bags of 100 daffodils or tulip varieties.
In the Westcott neighborhood, the community group gives away the bulbs, but these are for sale (though deeply discounted) to groups. Wirth says some of those groups do give bulbs to their neighbors. The 'requirement' is that the spring flowers be planted where the public can see them. Each group that participates is also asked to write a brief report on how the bulbs are used.
The Bulb Project Facebook Page, like the website, has lots of pictures of past years' successes, and inspirations.
