Wind chill advisories in effect, winter storm warnings cancelled

All previous winter storm WARNINGS for CNY have been CANCELLED. Any additional snowfall will be light in nature. However, watch for areas of blowing and drifting snow, especially for areas that typically receive the highest wind gusts that could cause snow to blow back on roads.A wind chill ADVISORY is now in effect for Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, Cortland, Chenango and Lewis counties until 11am.A wind chill advisory is issued when a combination of cold temperatures and wind speeds create dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. If you need to be outside, dress warmly and in layers. Make sure that all exposed skin is covered. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Wind chills will likely be in the -10 to -15 (below zero) range for most of our area through the morning. However, some colder spots may see occasional wind chills approaching -15 to -20 (below zero). If your area has wind chill advisories, here is what you should do:-- If you must be outdoors, use common sense and dress warmly.-- Make sure that all exposed skin is covered. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.-- Do not leave pets outside.Stay updated with this situation with these links:-- Interactive Doppler Radar-- Triple Doppler Radar -- Lightning Strikes-- Watches/Warnings: (Make sure to hit the 'F5' key to refresh the page.) -- Follow CNY Central Meteorologists on TwitterHere are details from the National Weather Service:NYZ009-018-036-037-044046-131500-/O.CAN.KBGM.WS.W.0004.000000T0000Z-140313T1200Z//O.NEW.KBGM.WC.Y.0012.140313T0629Z-140313T1500Z/NORTHERN ONEIDA-ONONDAGA-MADISON-SOUTHERN ONEIDA-CORTLAND-CHENANGO-OTSEGO-INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...BOONVILLE...SYRACUSE...ONEIDA...UTICA...ROME...CORTLAND...NORWICH...ONEONTA...COOPERSTOWN229 AM EDT THU MAR 13 2014
