      Winter Weather Advisories in effect

Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tompkins, Yates and Schuyler Counties. This weather alert is in effect Friday 4pm through 7am Saturday

With this winter situation, here is what we are watching
      :

Temperatures are colder today behind a cold front from last night. The rain, sleet and snow early today has tapered off with better road conditions and just some clouds for a while. Meanwhile a wave of low pressure will ride up along the cold front just to our southeast and will move snow into southern NY this afternoon and the rest of the region Friday Night. The above mentioned counties, as well as higher elevations into Onondaga County could see 3-4" of snow in this time period. From the Syracuse area northward only some lighter snow with an inch or two. Beyond this, we continue to monitor the development of a larger storm in the deep south that should ride up the Appalachians Sunday Night into Monday morning, starting as snow, then going to a wintry mixture and rain. Stay tuned for more details, watch us on our CNYcentral TV stations and FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER @MikeBrookins for updates.
