Wintry weather advisory for parts of northern New York, flooding possible in areas

Thereâ??s no shortage of weather across the country right now. Weather ranging from a late season snowstorm and tornadoes is in the Midwest and Plains, while rain, localized flooding, and a touch of wintry weather is possible for Central New York.

Over the next 48 hours, we have flooding concerns in parts of central and western NY due to recent rains, combined with continuing snow melt.

At the same time, colder air will filter in from Canada and some areas, especially northern NY could see a wintry mixture with some freezing rain mixed in later tonight through Friday morning.

Flood watch, freezing rain advisory and winter weather advisories have been issued for northern NY and eastern Lake Ontario counties through Friday morning.

A flood warning has been issued for the Mohawk River at Delta Dam in Oneida County until further notice.
