Meridian woman that lied to her coworkers in a holiday scam has been arrested by DeWitt Police.
Police say 33-year-old Danielle Daniels solicited her coworkers to donate to a family in Cayuga County that had lost everything in a fire, but an investigation revealed that Daniels had no intentions of sending donations to the family. She was charged with scheme to defraud and petit larceny. She's scheduled to appear in court later this month.
The investigation is ongoing as police try to find out how many people send donations to Daniels. Anyone with information regarding the scheme should contact DeWitt Police at email@example.com or 315-425-2333.
