Woman arrested for stealing handguns from Otsego County home
A woman in Otsego County has been arrested after a four month investigation of a gun theft in New Lisbon.
The owner of the residence in New Lisbon told deputies that he was missing three registered semi-automatic handguns from his home when he returned after being gone for several days. The investigation revealed that 24-year-old Angela Feitzinger stole the firearms out of the residence and later sold two of them in Utica. The third gun was recovered by deputies after it had been stored in a Hartwick Seminary storage unit along with some of the suspects personal property.
On Thursday, deputies located Feitzinger on Route 28 during a road check, and was brought to the sheriff's office for questioning. Investigators arrested her on felony charges of grand larceny, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a firearm.
She was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in state prison.
