A Maryland woman is under arrest after police say she sexually abused two young children while she was living in Central New York.
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh reports that 18-year-old Priscilla Bittner of Aberdeen, Maryland, has been accused of sexually abusing two children. Bittner was reported missing on October 10th to the Town of Cicero Police Department, and located eight days later in New Jersey. Bittner was arrested by the Maryland State Police on a warrant issued out of Onondaga County.
Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began working with the Cicero Police Department who discovered pornographic material on Bittner's computer during their missing person investigation. Police say they found photographs and videos portrayed images of Bittner engaging in sexual activity with two young children (ages 10 and 12). After an investigation, sheriff's detectives were able to identify the children and determine the acts were recorded in August while Bittner lived in the Syracuse area.
Police knew that Bittner was staying with family members in Maryland, and detectives contacted the Maryland State Police to assist with the investigation.
Late Thursday afternoon sheriff's detectives obtained a warrant for Bittner's arrest which was forwarded to the Maryland State Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, which arrested Bittner.
Bittner will remain in the custody of Maryland authorities pending extradition proceedings. She has been charged with two counts of felony use of a child in a sexual performance, and one count of sexual abuse in the first degree. Bittner was also charged on two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, one count of sexual abuse in the 2nd degree and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
