A woman was assaulted on her way to work early Wednesday morning, Syracuse Police say. An attack that may have been worse, had she not been carrying a knife.
Police are looking for the two suspects they say approached a woman, who was walking to work at about 4:20 am in the 100 block of West Jefferson Street, from behind. One of the suspects reportedly knocked the woman down and punched her in the face several times while demanding money.
Police say the victim pulled out a knife and swung it at the suspects, who took off, heading on foot toward the MoST.
The victim suffered swelling around her eye and a cut on her finger. The suspects did not get anything from the victim during the robbery attempt.
Police are looking for a white man, who was wearing a black shirt and tan shorts, and a white woman.
