Woman who pleaded guilty to stealing from CNY SPCA given 5 years probation
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
A woman who pleaded guilty to stealing from the CNY SPCA learned her fate Wednesday.
Nicole Cafarchio was given 5 years of probation and ordered to pay $62,000 in restitution for her role in the stealing of thousands of dollars from the CNY SPCA. Before her sentencing Cafarchio spoke to the court, saying that she had learned from her actions and was sorry for what she had done.
Cafarchio is one of three people who pleaded guilty to stealing from the agency. Former Executive Director Paul Morgan was sentenced last month to 4 to 12 years in state prison for taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the organization he once ran.
A third person, Taylor Gilkey, also pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny for her role in the thefts. She is due to be sentenced Thursday.
