Woman who robbed Syracuse bank is on the run

M&T Bank robbery on South Ave.

Syracuse police are looking for a woman who robbed M&T Bank on South Avenue Thursday afternoon.

The woman entered the bank around 2:50 p.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding cash. The woman was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot down South Avenue towards Elmhurst Avenue.

No weapons were displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.

The woman is described as being a 5'02" black female with a thin build about 20 to 30 years of age. Police say she has curly hair, but she may have been wearing a wig. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Syracuse police at 442-5222.
