WSTM VP/GM promoted to President/CEO

Chris Geiger has been named President and CEO of WSTM / WSTQ-TV, Syracuse, a division of Barrington Broadcasting Group, LLC. The announcement was made today by Barrington Broadcasting Group CEO Jim Yager and Chris Cornelius, President and Chief Operating Officer. Chris Geiger, a seasoned broadcast executive with over 15 years experience, will oversee all operations of the station, including the development of community and marketing relationships, local news and website initiatives, business affairs and the transition to digital as President of WSTM / WSTQ-TV.
In making the announcement, Cornelius stated, this promotion is in recognition of Chris TMs continued efforts to accelerate the growth of WSTM / WSTQ-TV TMs broadcast and digital assets. Chris has distinguished himself as a leader in connecting the consumer and advertiser together through local broadcast TV as well as the development of WSTM / WSTQ-TV TMs local internet portal.
Yager stated, In the Syracuse market, Barrington is developing a multi-platform media company and I TMm extremely pleased that Chris will be overseeing these expanding assets. With our locally focused broadcast station, digital secondary channels and strong web assets, Chris TMs background will continue their development.
Prior to Chris TMs position as VP and General Manager of WSTM / WSTQ-TV, he held the position of General Sales Manager and helped grow WSTM to the number one billing TV station in Syracuse. Chris is a native of Central New York with strong ties and relationships in the community. He is Vice President of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York and active in several other charities and community groups. In 2005, Chris was honored with the '40 Under 40' award as one of Syracuse TMs most influential business leaders under the age of 40.
