Your bus stop forecast for March 3

Good morning! Here is a look at your forecast at the bus stop this morning:

Temperatures: 2 to 7 for most of CNY. However, from Rome northward to all areas east of Lake Ontario, the North Country and the Adirondacks, temperature should be 0 to -10 (below zero).

Wind chills: -17 to -7 (below zero) for CNY. However, from Rome northward to all areas east of Lake Ontario, the North Country and the Adirondacks, wind chills should be -25 to -15 (below zero).

Sky condition & precipitation: Leftover flurries or light snow showers with some sunshine in CNY and southern New York. Skies will be clear over the North Country. Check out Interactive Doppler Radar and Triple Doppler Radar.

What should I wear outside?: A winter jacket will be necessary. You will also need to wear a hat and gloves or mittens. Of course, it is ultimately your decision on what you think you and your children should wear.

Any notable driving conditions?: While the amount of snow that fell last night through this morning was light, with temperatures this cold, the salt brine mixture will not be as effective in melting the snow compared to when temperatures are in the 20s to near 30. Be especially carefully driving on less treated roadways, curves, inclines, declines and on/off ramps.

      Special concerns: See above.

Afternoon ride home on the bus: Temperatures will be near 10. Wind chill: -8 to -3A mixture of sunshine and clouds with flurries. Wind will be NW 10-15 MPH. The sun will set at 5:56pm.
