Good morning! Here is a look at your wake up forecast this morning:
Temperatures: 12 to 16 for most of central New York, 8-12 for the North Country.
Wind chills: 0 to 10.
Sky condition & precipitation: Mostly cloudy with localized lake effect snow from the Syracuse area north. The heaviest of the snow to the north and northwest of Onondaga County this morning.
Any notable driving condition issues?: Where lake snow is falling the roads are greatly different than dry areas. Snow will be accumulating on the roads and slow driving conditions exist in the bands.
Special concerns: Not only is it snowy to the north of downtown Syracuse but it is cold everywhere. Temperatures will be in the middle teens rising to the upper teens. A brisk breeze will make for wind chills in the single digits.
Afternoon plans: Temperatures will be in the 20 range before falling. After noon we will be mostly cloudy with lake effect light snow showers and flurries tapering off. Not much new snow accumulation after noon. Wind chills will be not as harsh near 10-15.
