Baseball Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn passes away after battle with cancer

Hall of Fame baseball player Tony Gwynn, who had more than 3,000 hits in his career, has died, according to ESPN and other reports.

Gwynn passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 54.

He had recently signed an extension as the baseball coach at San Diego State. Gwynn played for the Padres for 20 seasons.
