(Don Steffens/WLUK, File)

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) - A Green Bay police officer helped turn a child's birthday around Monday.

Green Bay police say Officer Robinson was called to a local elementary school for a child who had not been picked up at the end of the school day.

According to police, the boy's parent is incarcerated and there were no other known family members for the school to contact to pick the child up.

Monday also happened to be the child's birthday.

Officer Robinson treated him to a meal at McDonald's and gave the child a ride around in a police car to make the day special.

Family was eventually located by police and the child was dropped off.

Police thanked McDonald's for supplying the child's meal and Officer Robinson for going the extra mile.
