'Tea Party Express' in Clinton Square

Hundreds of Tea Party Protestors were front and center in Syracuse TMs Clinton Square Monday afternoon. They brought song and star power. From the 1990 TMs sitcom, Home Improvement, Jimmy Labriola told jokes as the crowd cheered while former SNL star Victoria Jackson sang to their delight.

The Tea Party is a national movement of those declaring they are fed up with reckless spending in the government on all levels. While they don TMt associate themselves with any party in particular, only Conservative and Republican party members spoke at Monday TMs rally.

On the other side of the Clinton Square fountain, dozens of President Obama supporters jeered the Tea Party movement protest. Most say they don TMt see any problems in Washington, and are happy with the direction the President is steering the country.

The Tea Party stop was a pre-cursor to National tea Party Day, which is April 15th.
