Matt Hauswirth goes 1-on-1 with 2018 SU Football commit and B'ville star Gabe Horan
Gabe Horan made it official this week.
CuseNation.com's Mike McAllister broke the news on Twitter.
Horan, a junior at C.W. Baker high school (Baldwinsville), made his decision fairly quickly in his recruiting process.
Now that it's over, he can focus solely on his senior season with the Bees and being this week's Toyota High School Athlete of the Week.
The 6'6, 260-pound tight end/defensive end is the first commitment for Dino Babers and the Orange for the Class of 2018.
In an exclusive interview with CNY Central's Matt Hauswirth, Horan said Babers told him he would like for him to focus on playing tight end in his high-powered offense.
Additionally, he admitted it was difficult to pick up the phone and call the Boston College coaching staff, telling them he was verbally committing to the Orange.
Syracuse offered Horan fairly early on in the recruiting process after hosting the Baldwinsville star during its annual junior day in January.
