Toyota High School Athlete- Ryan Archer
Jamesville-Dewitt Lacrosse has another star, Ryan Archer. Now, the Red-Rams have had many top-caliber players over the years, but this one is a little different. His father, Jamie Archer is his head coach and has been grooming his talent since Ryan was young.
"To be able to experience the success that he's had and to be a part of it, you just cant be any prouder just being his dad and being a part of it. I'll look back at this and it will be a special moment for me" says father/coach Jamie
Ryan has been the best player on an excellent J-D squad. The Red Rams are 9-1 the season and Ryan has accounted for 28 goals and 36 assists in his junior season. This production has no doubt making his father proud.
"I mean he's always been my coach throughout my whole life, so it's not anything new but he's definitely a little harder on me, tells me straight up more than the other kids...J-D is kind of like an honor and you really have to carry the torch on from year to year" Ryan says.
Ryan still has a year left at Jamesville-Dewitt as the school looks for another state championship. After J-D, Archer is planning to continue his lacrosse career as a Statesmen at Hobart College.
