The Syracuse Orange Mens Basketball team earned its second win of the season.
This time, it didn't have to erase a double-digit deficit to do so.
Syracuse rolled from start to finish en route to a 89-74 victory over Fordham on Tuesday night. And while the Rams did fight hard in the second half, cutting Syracuse's 25 point halftime lead down to 12, they never seriously threatened the #9 team in the nation.
The Orange was led by senior star C.J. Fair who paced SU with 26 points and 6 rebounds.
The victory also marked a nice return for Jerami Grant.
Grant, who was suspended one game for playing in an unsanctioned summer league and missed the Cornell game, scored 16 points and 10 rebounds and quite frankly looked as athletic as ever.
Local product Dajuan Coleman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds..
Syracuse raced to an early 16-6 lead despite being cold from three point land the entire contest. When it was all said and done the Orange hit a mere two of its 16 three-point attempts and deep threat Trevor Cooney finished with just two points.
Tyler Ennis showed Orange fans what he's capable of, the freshman from Ontario scored 16 points accompanied by 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
Next up Syracuse is a pair of home games.
The first is a long-standing (albeit one sided) local rivalry between the Orange and Colgate. That game is set for Saturday.
After the Colgate contest, SU hosts St. Francis on November 18th before heading to the Maui Invitational from November 25-27.
