If you're wondering what Syracuse's conference basketball season will look like when they join the ACC this fall, look no further. The league released its 18-game schedule on Thursday.
SU will play its first ACC basketball game at home on Saturday, January 4. The Orange will host former Big East rival and defending ACC champion Miami. That game will be found on one of the networks of CNY Central.
In all, four games from SU's ACC slate will be found on the networks of CNY Central.
They include that January 4th date with Miami, a January 7th showdown with another former conference mate Virginia Tech, a February 15th game with NC State and a road game at Florida State on March 9.
Other ACC home games will feature national powerhouses Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.
As previously reported, the Duke game will be the site of ESPN's College GameDay broadcast on Saturday, February 2. Two days later, SU will host Notre Dame as part of the ACC's takeover of the ESPN "Big Monday" slot vacated by the breakup of the old Big East.
The Orange will play their first ACC road game on January 7 at another former Big East member, Virginia Tech. SU's game at Maryland on January 24 is another "Big Monday" event.
Looking to catch the Orange on national television? There will be plenty of opportunity for that. SU Athletics says the Orange will appear on CBS (WTVH-5 in Syracuse) "for its non-conference matchup with Villanova (Dec. 28) and its road game at Miami (Jan. 25). ESPN or ESPN2 will televise Dome games with North Carolina (Jan. 11), Pittsburgh (Jan. 18), Duke (Feb. 1), Notre Dame (Feb. 3), and Boston College (Feb. 19). Road games at Pittsburgh (Feb. 12), at Duke (Feb. 22), at Maryland (Feb. 24) and at Virginia (Mar. 1) will also be carried by ESPN or ESPN2."
SU also hosts Indiana on Tuesday, Dec. 3 as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. That game will air on ESPN starting at 7:15 pm.
SU plays every ACC member once, and four of those schools twice - once home and once away. This season those four are Pitt, Miami, Duke, and Boston College.
Also announced were SU's two exhibition games, home vs. Holy Family on Nov. 1 and Ryerson on Nov. 5.
