Babers ready for round two on the road at Miami

When most fans looked at the Syracuse Football schedule back in the summer, they saw a daunting midseason stretch of games against Clemson, at Miami and at Florida State.

One down, one to go.

The win over Clemson completely changes the college football both nationally and here in Central New York.

For Babers, as the calendar turns to a new week, he's already turning his attention.

""It was a fantastic win and it's something the players will be able to share with their grandaughters, their sons, their daughters. They need to enjoy it because when I see them on Tuesday we are going to get back to work" Babers said.

Indeed, next up is another undefeated ACC power, Syracuse hits the road for Coral Gables to meet undefeated 8th-ranked Miami.

I asked Coach Babers what he may know about the 'Canes, despite the whirlwind few days leading up to his weekly press conference on Monday.

"He (Coach Mark Richt) is one of the top coaches" Babers said of Richt, recounting that he was a part of the Florida State coaching tree.

The Orange has always been confident, but the win over then-2nd ranked Clemson gives the 'Cuse perhaps some proof of all the improvements those outside the program might not have seen.

Kickoff with the Hurricanes is set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.
