While Syracuse Orange fans left the Carrier Dome happy on Monday night after an 11 point win over West Virginia, head coach Jim Boeheim had an edge to him.

In his opening statement to the media after the game, he observed that SU fans and the media tend to "think the season is over" when the team loses a few games or doesn't play very well. He also expressed his anger at reports in the Syracuse Post-Standard that observed the fact Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals had beaten the Orange six straight times heading into Saturday's game, a game SU also lost.

" I don't think you can judge people, players or coaches on a single segment ," said Boeheim, "i f you start judging people on a little segment, I think you're really just on poor journalistic grounds. "

A visibly upset Boeheim continued to explain his point by adding, " I coached against Rick Pitino when he was at Providence five times and once at Kentucky and we were 6-0 against him. One of his teams went to the Final Four and we beat him three times. So now all of a sudden we're going to put in the paper that I lost six straight to Rick Pitino, why don't we put in that I beat him six straight? Go ahead, that's really good. Why don't you keep doing that, that's really good, I really appreciate that. You want to talk about personal? Yeah, it's personal. When people write and say stuff about me it's personal to me, and it always will be."

The 21-6 Orange have four games left in the regular season. They next face Rutgers this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
