DaShonte Riley is the Syracuse big man Orange fans never really got a chance to know.
The 7-foot center played fairly well for the Orange in the 2010 NCAA Tournament in Buffalo when Arinze Onuaku was injured, but foot surgery had him sitting on the sideline for the 2010-2011 season. Now it'll be the fans of Eastern Michigan who will get to know Riley.
Syracuse Post-Standard beat writer and Orange VIP Pass analyst Mike Waters is reporting that Riley has transferred to Eastern Michigan, where he will play for former SU assistant coach Ron Murphy. Riley's mother insists that this wasn't about DaShonte not liking SU, but more about him wanting to be closer to his home in Detroit, and his grandparents who have had health concerns.
