Exclusive- Adrian Autry interviewed for first time since promotion to Associate Head Coach

Adrian Autry is happy for Mike Hopkins, calling him a "friend and mentor"

Adrian Autry is the new Associate Head Coach of Syracuse Basketball.

It comes on the heels of a wild week, one where Mike Hopkins left to be the head coach at Washington and Jim Boeheim signed a contract extension.

At the end of it, Autry is rewarded for his loyalty to the Orange.

He first stepped on campus in 1990, playing through 1994.

In 2011, he returned as an assistant coach and it's been full steam ahead ever since with "Coach Red" bringing in several recruits and winning the "Vic Hanson Award" at the Basketball Hardwood Club Dinner.

For the first time since his promotion, Autry gave an interview. He was in studio for our weekly "Orange Zone" show where Adrian is our co-host.
