In 2018, college athletes regularly announce their future plans on social media as official news.

We saw it on March 26, when Matthew Moyer announced he was leaving Syracuse Basketball.

Today, Moyer sent a tweet confirming he's transferring to Vanderbilt.

Moyer will have to sit out the 2018-2019 season but then will have two years of eligibility remaining with Vanderbilt.

He joins a program on the rise, the Commodores have the #10 recruit in the nation in Simi Shittu and the #13 recruit Darius Garland coming to Nashville next season.

Moyer averaged 4 points and 3 rebounds per game in his only season seeing action for Syracuse. He started all 20 games for SU in 2017-2018 from the season opener until January 24 when he sprained his ankle against Boston College.

From there, Marek Dolezaj started and Moyer provided minutes off the bench.
