Howard Washington is committed to Syracuse Basketball.

Washington is a Buffalo native that is playing prep school ball at The Athlete Institute in Ontario, Canada.

While in Western New York he attended the prestigious Canisius High School.

He's the third commitment for the Class of 2017 and the first at point guard which is a position of need for the Orange with John Gillon set to leave after the season.

Washington is 6'3" and shows a knack for finding open scorers, you can watch some of his highlights from rivals here:

Washington joins his teammate Oshae Brissett (Forward) and Bourama Sidibe (Center) from Newark in the Orange's Class of 2017.

Syracuse still has openings for recruits with five scholarships opening by the seniors departing (DaJuan Coleman, Tyler Roberson, John Gillon III, Andrew White III, and Doyin Akintobe Adeyeye). That doesn't include any potential early departures.

Syracuse is reportedly still pursuing point guard Eric Ayala who could join the Class of 2017 or 2018.
