SU sells out of extra ticket allotment for Duke game

Syracuse University released extra tickets for the Orangeâ??s highly anticipated home game with Duke Thursday morning, but if you werenâ??t quick on the draw youâ??re once again out of luck.

Athletic Department spokesman Joe Giansante tells CNY Central that the Duke-Syracuse contest on February 2 is completely sold out. The additional inventory, which was made available at 9:00 a.m., came from an allotment of season tickets that hadnâ??t been sold.

It is anticipated that attendance for the Duke game could reach or even surpass the record crowd that witnessed Syracuse lose to Georgetown last season. The official capacity of the Carrier Dome is 35,012 for basketball.

There had been some discussion over whether the university would move the basketball court to the middle of the Carrier Dome to increase seating, but the university ultimately decided it would not do that.

Giansante says tickets still remain or several other high-profile home contests, including Villanova, North Carolina, and Miami. Seats are available in the lower sections, including the student section because students will be on winter break.
